Acentic and Philips collaborate on hotel HD TV system
by Janet Harris

Acentic Panorama and Philips have entered into a partnership to develop an HD TV system for hotels which doesn’t require an external set-top-box.
Philips’ Ultimate HD TV sets will be integrated with Acentic’s Panorama In-room Hotel Entertainment Platform.
The cost-effective system will offer the first integrated LCD TV for the hotel market which provides Full HD without the expensive and unsightly cabling associated with an external set-top-box.
Acentic’s Panorama platform provides HD video on demand and unique content through a customisable Graphical User Interface.
Mark Poldervaart, the Senior Business Manager of Philips’ Hospitality business for the EMEA region said: “With HD accelerating across European households, hotel guests expect HD in their hotel room.
“Panorama and Philips take the hotel room one step ahead of the consumer world enabling the delivery of HD video on demand on top of HD broadcast channels.”
Philips is also working to reduce messy wiring in the home, and recently released its Wireless HDTV link in the US.
