BT finally does something with Ribbit

It was back in 2008 when BT acquired the web-based phone service Ribbit.

Since then the broadband and phone provider appears to have done little with the service, but there are now plans to roll out the Ribbit service next year.

BT is looking for interesting parties to sign up for the beta trail of Ribbit on the services mobile site.

According to BT, the Ribbit mobile phone service has been designed as a sort of central hub for phone services, including VoIP, Mobile and Voice to Text Messaging, allowing mobile users to acces calls and messages over the internet even when they don’t have their phone with them.

Ribbit is a cloud based service that has been said to work with almost all mobile phones, there is no contract or software needed, just activate the Ribbit service on the phone.
