The proposed merger between France Telecom’s Orange and Deutsche Telekom’s T Mobile has gone ahead following various consultations between competition agencies in the UK and in Europe too.
It is a strange time for the two firms, which have just announced very different financial results.
T Mobile goes into this new era after announcing that the sales of mobile broadband dongles were up by over seventy per cent.
Whereas for Orange the story is completely different, as the mobile provider has recently announced that its broadband customer base has fallen to below 900,000 for the first time.
However, it is a different story when it comes to mobile broadband, with the customer base rising by sixty five per cent.
The merger could not have come at a better time for both firms, as mobile broadband set to grow further.
