Mobile broadband is a great idea, except when there is no service or it fails to work with the operating system.
The latter is an issue that seems to be affecting Mac users, but only if they are using the OS X Snow Leopard that was released in September.
The reason for this mobile broadband problem appears to be down to the mobile networks which, for one reason or another, have not installed the software updates that keep the dongles working with the operating system.
The response from the mobile providers has been mixed; some have failed to comment, while others have provided updates through their support pages.
It looks like Mac users have been completely overlooked.
This may be true, but with the release of Snow Leopard and these issues coming to light, it should not happen again.
