On Demand to provide content to Kabel BW

London-based On Demand Group is to provide video-on-demand (VOD) content and services to Germany cable TV operator, Kabel BW, through its On Demand Deutschland joint venture with Tele München Gruppe.

Kabel BW plans to launch a new VOD service in early 2010, which will offer major film and television series titles.

Tony Kelly, On Demand Group’s CEO, said: “On Demand Deutschland was formed to jumpstart the introduction of VOD and pay-per-view television in German-speaking regions and our agreement with Kabel BW means we are now working with Germany’s three largest cable operators.

“We are thrilled with the momentum On Demand Deutschland has helped generate since its launch and are looking forward to working closely with Kabel BW as they introduce this exciting new service to their subscribers.”
