3DTV Festival planned by Virgin Media
by David Allen

Virgin Media is going for 3D TV in a big way following public trials in the Virgin Media store in London.
It seems that either Virgin Media has a taste for 3D TV, or it is attempting to force Sky TV into showing its 3D TV hand.
Whatever the reason, Virgin Media is now planning a 3D TV Festival which will be offered to the cable provider’s subscriber base in a similar way to how HD services are offered, from the 17th November.
For subscribers who want to try out the 3D TV effect, the red and blue glasses needed to see the 3D images will be available from Virgin Media Stores and Sainsbury’s Supermarkets.
According to the CEO of Virgin Media, Neil Berkett, 3D TV is possibly more suitable for VoD than for a monthly subscription service.
