60+ computers launched

A computer aimed at the over sixties has been launched by ex Blue Peter presenter, Valerie Singleton.

The computer has been developed in a joint venture between Wessex Computers and Discount Age.

The SimplicITy computer has been designed with a simple user interface that directs the user to email, internet and word processing etc.

However, critics say that this is patronising and at £445 and £554, these Linux based desktops with nineteen inch monitors are not cheap either.

However what the buyer will get that no other computer maker offers is the series of ‘how to’ videos starring Valerie Singleton.

These tutorials are in fact very basic and are likely to be dismissed as being patronising.

As a bonus, buyers of the computer get a free year’s membership to discount-age.co.uk, a website set up by a Valerie Singleton!
