The broadband, phone and TV service provider, BT, has reported a down turn in profits, but at the same time announced an increase in new customers.
According to the BT announcement, the ISP welcomed seventy two thousand new customers during the quarter covering April and June.
This takes BT’s home broadband market share to a reasonable 4.9 million.
Furthermore BT Vision, was able to add an additional eighteen thousand customers to the on demand service, taking the customer total to 436,000.
However, the bad news was that during the six month period to the end of September, BT’s profits fell forty five per cent to £547 million.
Currently BT is working on upgrading its network, which will mean that some subscribers will be able to receive an up-to 20 Mbps broadband connection.
