The UK set-top box testing company, Mirifice, has made significant progress with its push into eastern Europe through a deal with Russia’s Comstar-UTS.
Russia’s largest broadband Internet provider will use MiriATE, a set-top box testing system from Mirifice, for all its future IPTV and set-top box deployments.
Comstar-UTS has been using Mirifice’s monitoring system, MiriMON, since 2008.
MiriATE, an automated testing system, is expected to help Comstar ensure the reliability and robustness of its IPTV services and set-top boxes.
Niall Buckingham, Mirific’s director and Founder said: “MiriATE enables extensive, accurate tests to be run 24 hours a day.
The resulting improvements in service quality and reliability will provide in a reduction in the total cost of ownership of devices and improved customer satisfaction with the service.”
Bath-based Mirifice recently demonstrated its set-top box monitoring technology at the IPTV World Forum Eastern Europe, in Prague.
