No more Beta for Bing

It may have been Friday the 13th, but for Microsoft superstition means nothing, as this was the day the company announced its official launch of the search engine with a difference, Bing.

Following a short trial, the search engine has been put through a range of public and internal tests to ensure that it performs to expectations.

Obviously, the tasks set have been successful and so the little word that means so much, “beta”, has been removed from the site.

For the UK user it will mean a homepage related to the UK, with other services such as Twitter and Visual Search, Bing maps and even shopping data through Ciao.

One thing that UK users will miss out on will be the addition of Wolfram Alpha as this service is currently only available in the US.
