TeamViewer 5 beta adds VoIP
by Jan Harris
TeamViewer GmbH has released the beta version of its TeamViewer 5 desktop sharing solution, which adds the latest VoIP and video conferencing technology to the software.
Audio transmission is integrated into TeamViewer 5 and VoIP can be included with a mouse click, allowing users to discuss documents they are collaborating on.
The solution allows a webcam stream to be transmitted directly, allowing VoIP calls to be supported with video transmission.
The presentation function includes a back monitor which can be opened with a single click.
This allows the presenter to see what viewers are watching on their screens.
Teamviewer 5 also offers a conference call number, which takes participants to a teleconference room where they can discuss their work in detail, via phone.
Security is provided via black and white lists and AES 256 bit coding encryption, and the application works behind firewalls.
