Zune makes UK debut on XBox 360

Microsoft is finally launching its Zune video streaming service in the UK, as part of XBox Live for the XBox 360 game console.

The service has been available in the USA for three years.

Video Marketplace, which allows Xbox Live users to download or purchase content will be re-launched as Zune, which is expected to live streaming of full 1080p video, depending on the speed of the internet connection.

Content will be available from major studios such as Paramount, Universal, MGM and Warner Brothers.

However the Zune HD portable media player isn’t expected in the UK until next year.

It isn’t all good news for the Xbox 360 though, because a survey carried out by CNET found that the console is suffering from a negative reputation due to a previously high failure rate compared with other consoles.
