BT’s hybrid DTT/IPTV service, BT Vision, is adding Freeview HD to the next generation of its set top boxes, but no date has yet been announced for the launch.
Freeview HD will offer HD content from the BBC ITV, Channel 4 and S4C, with broadcasts starting in the Granada region and London next month.
The roll-out of the service to other regions will broadly follow the schedule for the digital switchover.
BT Vision gained 18,000 customers in the three months to September 30, a fall of almost 50 percent on the previous quarter.
