
Modern Warfare 2 suffered a large drop in sales – 86% down on its launch week – yet still held onto the number one position in the video game charts.
Such is the success of Activision’s shooter behemoth, according to Chart Track who compiles the charts, it held off Assassin’s Creed II which came in at number two.
That’s even though Ubisoft’s sequel sold 12% more than the original Assassin’s Creed, which snagged the number one spot on release.
Nintendo holds up the rest of the top 5, with New Super Mario Bros Wii a new entry at number 3, and Wii Sports Resort then Wii Fit Plus behind it.
Fifa 10 is still holding on in the top ten at number six, with stylish online shooter Left 4 Dead 2 coming in at number seven.
