The sub-10 watt HDTV is designed for use is areas where the electricity supply is erratic, such as part of the developing world.

Pixel Qi expects to sell the TV for around $100 price, but hasn’t yet revealed when it is likely to be available.

Pixel Qi’s epaper screen won the “Best of Computex” Award from Laptop Magazine at Computex 2009.

The company plans to commence mass production of the screen next month.
