The European Parliament has voted in favour of new internet legislation, which is certain to have serious implications for the broadband industry within the EU.
Within these new internet laws are rules on the provision of mobile broadband.
The plan is to create a single mobile broadband spectrum right across Europe.
This will encourage the providers to make services compatible and allows users to access the service no matter where they are.
Naturally, the Telecoms Bill will include details of what should be done to internet users that abuse the network and so there is provision for the suspension of user accounts.
However, this can only happen after an impartial procedure.
How this bill will relate to the UK’s plans on handling the illegal filesharing problem is a matter for debate.
