November 27, 2009

Yesterday, part of the BBC Worldwide and Virgin Media channel UKTV, has commissioned a brand new documentary that will be looking into life on the Channel Islands during the war.

The documentary looks into the occupation of occupation of Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney and Sark.

The Channel Islands at War will be aired as part of “The Spirit of 1940”, a series of programmes that will follow the course of the war, to be shown throughout 2010.

The documentaries will commemorate the seventieth anniversary of the events and will be aired during the second quarter of the year.

The documentary will be co-written and presented by John Nettles, the actor that played the most famous Channel Island police officer, Bergerac.

The programme will be three hours in length and will contain interviews with those islanders that actually experienced the German occupation of the islands.
