The BBC could be scaling down on its digital TV programming following the completion of the digital switchover, which is due to take place in 2012.
According to the BBC’s director general, Mark Thompson, this is a result of the concerns being voiced by people within the industry as well as politicians.
Speaking at the Voice of the Listener & Viewer conference at the Geological Society in London, he went on to say that the strategic review of the BBC is due to be completed next year and once finalised the BBC will be able to move forward with its plans.
One thing is for sure, in 2012 the BBC is going to be very different broadcaster when it comes to digital content after the digital switchover has taken place, which seems a bit weird.
