Activision has just held a weekend of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 gaming on Xbox Live, featuring donations to a war charity.

Activision will donate an amount of cash proportional to the number of gamers who played Modern Warfare 2 online this weekend just gone.

The amount hasn’t yet been announced, but it will be up to £250,000 depending on the exact number who took part. Activision were hoping for a million gamers.

The money will go to the charity War Child, which protects kids living in the world’s most dangerous war zones.

It’s certainly a good cause, and of course has drummed up some much needed positive publicity for the controversial game.
