Switchover leads to news mix up

December 8, 2009

Normally it could be assumed that following the digital switchover households within the area would be pleased with the result and the increase in available TV channels.

But this may not always be the case, as some people have recently found in East Lancashire following the completion of the digital switchover.

It seems that there must have been a slight mix up somewhere along the line, as viewers tried to watch the local news on the Freeview service only to find that is was being broadcast in Welsh.

It turns out that since the switchover some households are unable to receive to Channel Four, and the local news service, BBC North West, has been replaced by the welsh language news channel, BBC Cymru Wales.
