Boxee released in Beta

The long awaited release of Boxee will be within the next few weeks or so.

The service has already been available on alpha but it is the beta release that users have been waiting for.

Boxee offers the user the ability to stream video to multiple devices.

These can be anything from computers to televisions.

Currently Boxee is just software and the beta version will be by invitation only, although it will not be long before the Boxee software will be on general release on the 7th January.

At almost the same time as the software general release it is expected that there will be an announcement of a new Boxee branded set top box that will make it easy to connect a television to the internet, giving access to on-demand services.
