Growth reported for BBC digital channels

The BBC is reporting only a slight increase in audience growth on its digital channels, including BBC3, BBC4 and Cbeebies.

Following recent reports that at some point there could a cut back in the BBC’s digital services, the new figures add fuel to the fire, with rumours that changes could be happening sooner rather than later.

Both BBC3 and BBC4 have not performed to expectations, considering the amount of money that has gone into developing the channels, but since their launch both channels have changed target audiences.

Yet according to the BBC, the channels are on track to reach their audience share, with BBC3 attracting around 4.8 million viewers in the 16 to 34 age group, while although BBC4 struggles with viewers, the drama ‘Enid’ attracted 1.4 million viewers.
