Supermarket chain Tesco has had to remove a Christmas card depicting ginger haired children as being unloved, and it seems that the cable TV provider Virgin Media has fallen into the ginger trap too.
An advert run by the cable company has been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) because it was deemed to be offensive to people with ginger hair, as it implied that they are unattractive.
The advert was run for the Living TV show, Dating in the Dark, and although other adverts for the series were just as offensive to certain groups of people, it was just the ginger advert that was banned due to the amount complaints – three in fact!
