TalkTalk and Channel Four sign up to Project Canvas

The phone and broadband provider, TalkTalk, and the terrestrial TV broadcaster, Channel Four, will both be joining the joint venture set up by the BBC, ITV, BT and Five, well known now as Project Canvas.

It seems expansion is the key for this project to survive the authorities, and in the spirit of that it has been announced that the organisations will be investing around £16 million a piece into the project in order to get the online video venture off the ground.

Project Canvas is counting on other broadcasters to sign up too.

It was reported that even BSkyB is being courted by the BBC to join, but that could be a partnership too far, as BSkyB has already turned down the offer.
