HDTV sales set to rise in 2010

It seems that although 2010 is being regarded as the year of 3D HDTV, the growth in that sector will be limited until the market becomes established and consumers are able to get their hands on 3D HDTV equipment.

In the meantime it seems that 2010 is more likely to become the year of HDTV.

In fact 2009 was not a good year for the TV industry. with sales falling by around ten per cent.

But for 2010 the picture is looking much clearer, with industry experts claiming that shipments of large-screen LED back lit LCD HDTVs will increase from 2.5 million units in 2009 to a massive 18.8 million units in 2010.

To take these predictions further, according to iSuppli the market will expand to 112 million units by 2013!
