Triffids lose ground in second show

The Day of the Triffids has been the subject of a movie with Howard Keel, radio shows and of course a now classic BBC version from 1981.

The recent adaptation, available in HD on the BBC HD channel, started off fine but as with many two part dramas it went downhill from there.

The worst thing was the Triffids, which were plants with hoodies, going around in gangs destroying everything in their path.

There must have been a metaphor in there somewhere.

There are plenty of disappointed viewers around who were probably expecting something that was better than the 1981 TV version and matched the quality of the John Wyndham novel from 1951.

It seems that viewers were unhappy with the acting, dialogue and the CGI effects too.
