The set top box maker Humax has been very busy recently and this time a deal has been struck between the firm and the client software provider ANT.
The idea behind the deal is to produce one of the first Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV (HBB TV) set top boxes on the market which will help users access all sorts of hybrid services.
The deal will mean that Humax can use the ANT Galio HBB TV platform in its new iCord HD+ satellite set top box, which is currently shipped to stores in Germany.
Throughout Europe, an HBB TV initiative is being introduced to make broadcast and broadband services available to the consumer through television and set top boxes.
These will include catch up TV and video on demand services.
