More Freeview TVs from LG

It is a confusing time for some consumers as the digital switchover moves relentlessly around the UK, until in 2012 the entire country will be digital.

This requires the consumer to buy digital TV equipment, which is about to become even more confusing.

The television manufacturer LG announced at the CES 2010 in Las Vegas that it intends to install Freeview tuners in around half of its TVs.

This means that the consumer buying a new TV will have nothing else to do when the switchover happens in their area, as in many places Freeview is likely to be available already.

The LG models to be available with Freeview, from April, will be the LED models LE 8900, LE 7900 and LE 5900; LCD models LD 790 and LD 690; and Plasma models PK 590, PK 790 and PK 950.
