Tiscali has ceased to be, after the ISP that bought it up last summer, TalkTalk, has decided to axe the brand.
All Tiscali customers will now become TalkTalk users, moving onto the company’s own price tariff scheme.
TalkTalk has assured those involved that for many this will mean a reduction in their monthly charges. Some may see a “small increase”, though.
The ISP stated on its blog: “We’ve gained a lot from the Tiscali acquisition, most notably TV and Portal expertise and some great people, but from today the brand name will disappear and our focus is on TalkTalk.”
From our point of view, the move is something of a relief. It means that never again do we have to worry about how to pronounce Tiscali.
