We won’t have to wait long for the next version of the Firefox web browser, 3.6, given that a Release Candidate was made available at the weekend.
Apparently 75% of add-ons are now compatible with Firefox 3.6, with the rest to follow in short order, no doubt.
Firefox 3.6 will bring forth a number of changes, most notably tweaks to how third party software integrates with the browser for increased stability, and improved javascript performance.
It will also boast new customisation options in the form of personas, themes that can be switched between with a single click.
So if you want the inevitable Avatar or Twilight skins, you can have them. We think we’ll stick with the “paint splat” theme, given that it’d be more interesting to watch that dry than Twilight in our humble opinion.
We’d expect to see the full version of Firefox 3.6 released at some point in the next couple of weeks.
