Freesat extends iPlayer trial

The free-to-view satellite service, Freesat, has announced that it will be expanding the beta tests of the BBC iPlayer to all Freesat users.

Initially the broadcaster had been carrying out a closed beta test with just invited users getting access.

However it is not strictly true that all Freesat users will be able to join in the beta test, as the viewer will need to be using a Freesat HD or Freesat+ set top box that has been built by Humax.

All the viewer has to do is enter the access code, which should be provided by Freesat but, just in case, here it is: 5483.

It has been known to fail on the first or second attempt, but it will load up eventually.
