Home 3D HDTV not that simple

If consumers believe everything they hear from broadcasters and equipment makers, they will be thinking that switching to 3D HDTV is going to be a doddle.

So exactly how easy will it be for the consumer to bring 3D HDTV technology into the home?

In the past, a broadcaster such as BSkyB managed to convince consumers that satellite TV was better than terrestrial TV, and then that digital TV was better still until HD TV is now the premium format.

Add 3D HDTV to that list and the only reason why subscribers would not convert is the issue of cost.

As with HD TV, moving up the ladder to 3D HDTV is going to be expensive and only those with cash to spare will jump in at first.
