After announcing that its set top boxes were to go green, it seems that BT has chosen the UK based set top box maker, Pace, to produce the next generation of BT Vision+.
Initially the contract to build the new equipment looked like going stateside for production.
Motorola seemed to be coming out as favourite to build the latest set top box for BT Vision but, from almost nowhere, the Yorkshire based company Pace has come through as the winner and signed a supply contract with BT.
The new BT Vision+ equipment will use low levels of power in all aspects of its operation which will comply with the latest regulations being brought in by the EU.
The set top boxes will be HD Ready and provide the user with access to the Freeview digital TV service.
