Sony Ericsson has announced a new Symbian smartphone with some interesting features on the image and movie front.
The Vivaz boasts not only an 8 megapixel camera, but it can record video clips in full 720p High-Definition.
You’ll be able to watch the resulting video on the phone’s 3.2 inch display (which is 640 x 360 resolution), or upload it to YouTube directly (the Vivaz has a built-in application, alongside Facebook and Twitter apps).
Other specs include 8GB of memory on a microSD card, bluetooth, wi-fi and assisted GPS.
In a nod to fancy design, the phone isn’t a rectangle block, but has a slight curvature to its body which looks reasonably funky.
It seems quite a promising option for those who like snapping and filming on the move. Sony Ericsson is doubtless hoping it will help recover its reputation somewhat, which has been knocked by problems with several of its phones over the last few months.
