VoD could fuel online advertising
by David Allen

With the increased interest in watching TV via the internet, many producers and broadcasters have been using this to their advantage as it offers another platform from where they are able to deliver content direct to the consumer.
However it is not just the broadcasters that have seen online TV as being an interesting opportunity, so too have the advertisers.
Wherever there is TV, advertising is not going to be that far behind and it seems that the success of the iPlayer from the BBC has shown that online TV and video on demand (VoD) are going to see increased use.
According to the chief executive of the Internet Advertising Bureau UK, Guy Phillipson, online advertising is increasing year on year and as more content becomes available it stands to reason that advertising will follow.
