Sony Ericsson Aspen green phone unveiled

Darren Allan

Sony Ericsson has just announced a new business smartphone with green credentials called the Aspen.

The handset was previously named the Faith when we reported on it last month, and we reckon the name change is a good one.

It’s part of the GreenHeart range, and comes with an energy efficient mini-charger, and a power saving mode.

The Aspen is also manufactured using 50% recycled plastics, and with a minimum of packaging used to box it up (plus an e-manual is provided rather than a paper one).

In terms of specs, we’re talking a 2.4 inch display, full Qwerty keyboard, 3 megapixel camera, and a 600MHz Qualcomm CPU.

The Aspen will boast GPS, 3G, wi-fi, and it will run the latest version of Windows Mobile, 6.5.3.

The phone will be available in the second quarter of 2010.
