DTG expresses concerns over Project Canvas
by David Allen

As the final word from the BBC Trust is due anytime regarding the multi channel joint venture known as Project Canvas, the Digital TV Group (DTG) has been expressing concerns over the project’s failures to engage with all parts of the industry.
The DTG is a body set up to represent the industry and includes the likes of BSkyB, Dixons, Freeview, Pace and Samsung amongst its members.
The DTG has mentioned that the IPTV project has not fully taken into consideration the views of all the industry stakeholders and therefore is not going to be able to produce an open standard which all can work to.
The consultation is now closed to any objections or complaints about Project Canvas and a final decision will be made in due course.
