Sky Songs partners with IPC TV magazines

The satellite broadcaster BSkyB’s venture into the music business has agreed a deal with the magazine giant IPC, to offer free music download to buyers of the group’s TV listings magazines.

Sky Songs, which was launched in the later part of last year, will be offering readers of TV & Satellite Week, TV Times, What’s on TV, TV Easy and Soap life the opportunity to download ten free tracks from the Sky Songs music library.

Sky Songs currently has around five million tracks from EMI, Sony, Universal and Warner to choose from.

The user can choose unlimited online streaming or, if required, just standard mp3 downloads from the extensive catalogue for just £6.49 per month.

The free songs promotion will run throughout February, appearing in one issue of each TV listings magazine.
