With the 3D craze a reality, the demand for more content in the format is growing, but to produce films in 3D is expensive and besides, new films are taking up to two years to make it onto the big screen.
The film industry has created a demand for 3D films, but has no way of supplying enough new content to keep the film fans satisfied.
The only alternative for the studios and producers could be to convert the older film into 3D and offer these classics on DVD and also satellite TV in 3D for home use.
According to Sony, this could be a way of feeding the 3D hungry film fans to satisfy the demand for 3D films.
It is not so different to when HD came out, when consumers wanted to see the difference between the two definitions.
