Firstplay: Interactive games show comes to PS3
by Darren Allan

PlayStation 3 owners can look forward to an interactive games show, delivered directly to their console in High-Definition come March.
Called Firstplay, the show is being masterminded by the folks behind the Official PlayStation Magazine at Future Publishing.
It will be available every Thursday, and will contain HD video reviews, screenshots and artwork, details of the latest new releases on PSN, and most importantly a downloads section.
This will encompass exclusive demos, beta trials, themes and other assorted downloadable content.
Firstplay will be priced at 99 pence per weekly episode, or £8.99 for a three month subscription.
That doesn’t stack up too badly against the cost of a games magazine, though it will live or die on the strength and amount of its content, naturally.
On the downside, Firstplay will be ad supported as well, containing six adverts in total.
Chief Executive at Future Publishing, Robert Price, commented: “FirstPlay is a ground breaking development, not just for gamers, but for the media industry, and we are delighted to be partnering with Sony on this pioneering project.”
“On-console delivery is an exciting next step in Future’s strategy of providing high quality content for readers and integrated media solutions for advertisers.”
