With the launch of the first HD set top box for the Freeview digital TV platform it seems that one equipment manufacturer, TVonics, is preparing to jump into the Freeview HD market feet first, in order to capitalise on the expected market growth.
The company was only formed in 2005, yet according to its last reports it had a turnover of £8.5 million.
TVonics is aiming to produce 300,000 set top boxes this year, but investing in and developing products geared to the Digital switchover is limited to the 2012 deadline, so what will happen then?
TVonics has a reputation for building easy to use set top boxes, but putting all of its set top boxes into one basket could present it with problems at a later date.
