BSkyB set to target gamers

During an event run alongside the BAFTAs and organised by the satellite broadcaster BSkyB, it emerged that the gaming industry could hold one of the keys that could see 3D HDTV adopted in the UK.

Currently there is a split in the subscribers and viewers of Sky TV on 3D HDTV.

There are those sports fans who watch the live sporting events in 3D HDTV and then there is the home user, who not only will be required to have a Sky+ HD set top box but also a 3D Ready television too.

But BSkyB has the Sky Player available though the Xbox 360 and it is well known that Microsoft claims that the equipment can cope with 3D HDTV technology, so could this be another avenue for BSkyB to roll out 3D HDTV in the UK?
