HTC Desire out in the spring

Darren Allan

HTC’s Desire smartphone, which was unveiled last week at Mobile World Congress, will be out in the UK sooner than we thought.

The Desire, which is very similar to Google’s Nexus One (but with HTC’s innovative Sense interface), has been confirmed on all five of the UK’s mobile operators.

And it will be available as soon as late March or early April, with T-Mobile bringing it out first, followed shortly by the rest.

Various reports are currently pointing to contracts starting at the £30 or £35 per month mark.

The Desire sports a 3.7 inch AMOLED touchscreen, 5 megapixel camera, and a 1GHz processor. It runs Android 2.1, and the HTC Sense interface.
