Two main television manufacturers, LG and Samsung, will be entering the 3D HDTV market by the end of next month.
First up will be the Samsung 9000 3D LED TV and this will be closely followed by the launch of the LG Infinia LE 9500 3D TV which comes with 32” to 52” displays.
The introduction of these televisions is significant because not only do they offer the latest technology to the UK viewer, but this acknowledges that satellite broadcaster BSkyB’s plans to launch the UK’s first 3D Channel are real.
Samsung is looking at a sales target of around two million 3D HDTVs being sold in 2010.
This has been reduced down from 2.6 million sales, while LG has not come forward with any predictions for 3D HDTV sales yet.
