Not to be left out in the dark, the Dutch electronics giant, Philips, is planning a venture into the 3D HDTV market towards the end of August.
This follows reports that the company is planning a 2010 launch for the Philips Cinema 21:9 3D television.
The television was displayed at the IFA in 2009, but in Barcelona the company stated that it will be launched by the end of the summer, which falls nicely into the August or September slot.
This has been a quiet development from the Netherlands-based company while other TV makers have been going 3D crazy.
Some manufacturers have been talking up 3D HDTV for almost year now and still there is no sign of their products hitting the stores.
