DeviceLock and SentryBay announce partnership

DeviceLock, Inc., a worldwide leader in endpoint data leak prevention software solutions, today announced a partnership with Security software specialist SentryBay.

The partnership is set to provide one of the most comprehensive solutions available for companies wanting to secure their data and end-user devices.

SentryBay’s Personal Data Protection Suite comprises the market-leading EntryProtect and PhishLock solutions.

These solutions neutralise the two greatest threats to users of the internet: key logging and phishing, which together are the cause of almost 95% of all data stolen by internet hackers.

DeviceLock is an endpoint data leak prevention solution that enables network administrators to centrally control file activities through local computer ports and peripheral devices.

DeviceLock manages, audits, and shadows access while locking out unauthorised use of USB and FireWire devices; WiFi and Bluetooth adapters; DVD/CD-ROM, tape, optical, and floppy drives; infrared, serial and parallel ports; local, virtual and network printers; PDAs, smartphones and many other plug-and-play devices.

DeviceLock also detects and thwarts USB and PS/2 hardware-based key loggers, which is a natural extension to SentryBay’s protection against software-based key loggers.

By offering a combination of complementary solutions, SentryBay and DeviceLock will help ensure the security and integrity of data entered into and held by corporate applications and networks as well as protecting those assets from malicious programs or attacks.

Marcus Whittington, COO, SentryBay explains the drivers behind the partnership: “Technology systems must now account for a dizzying array of threats.

“Established concerns such as spam and viruses are being joined by new challenges such as spear phishing, targeted key-logging attacks, ‘drive-by’ web attacks and a workforce at ease with the idea of connecting personal technology to corporate networks.

“To handle these issues, partnership among specialists is critical in order to deliver a cohesive solution to the market.”

“There is also a customer service element here. Security threats evolve at a phenomenal pace, and to keep up, businesses need to adopt a multi-layered approach.

“The trouble is that this can quickly lead to a project all in itself. The head of security or IT director has to manage multiple relationships across anti-spam, anti-virus and anti-malware providers.

“By partnering with DeviceLock we remove that headache – the customer retains one point of contact for the combined data-loss prevention solution.”

Sacha Chahrvin, managing director at DeviceLock UK adds, “As networks become more complex and more distributed, corporations face a growing vulnerability to insider attacks.

“To restore security, organisations need reliable and comprehensive endpoint security solutions.

“DeviceLock is committed to developing strong partnerships with technology leaders to deliver end-to-end proactive security solutions that meet customers’ real-world security challenges.

“This partnership with SentryBay is a great example of that.”
