Samsung Diva struts its UK stuff

Darren Allan

A new Samsung phone has arrived in the UK, and it’s known as the Diva S7070.

With a name like Diva, as you’d expect it’s a fashion themed handset, with a diamond shaped button on the front, and a quilted pattern on the rear cover which looks quite funky.

Stick a massive feathery case surround on top of that lot, and perhaps a real diamond for the button, and it would be the sort of phone Lady Gaga would happily own.

Targeting young females, the Diva has a predictable bias towards social networking, with Facebook and MySpace coming built-in.

The 3.2 megapixel camera apparently offers a beauty mode filter – presumably the equivalent of slapping a bit of Vaseline on the old lens.

The Diva also sports a fake call mode, so you can get yourself out of that tiresome meeting or date by pretending you’ve got some other urgent business to attend to.

Other specs include a 2.8 inch touchscreen, an FM radio, and 40MB of internal storage.

Carphone Warehouse is offering a limited supply of make-up goodie bags to the first customers purchasing the phone.

O2 also has an incentive, a 12 month subscription to iSubscribe for the first 8000 Diva buyers. No, we’ve no idea what it is, either.
