Vodafone is set to cut 500 jobs at its headquarters in Newbury.
This is according to a report in the Times, which states that the job losses will mainly be drawn from back office workers and middle management.
The move is part of a £1 billion program of cuts planned to be implemented by the end of 2011, and the mobile operator let a similar amount of staff go last year.
Lest you think things are going badly at Vodafone, however, the company was still estimated to be worth £71 billion last November.
And the majority of the planned cuts have now been put into action, so hopefully there won’t be any further major job losses.
