Fetch picks Genius for EPG

IP Vision will begin to use software provided by the development firm TV Genius on the Fetch TV IPTV Freeview service, as well as on the firm’s mobile and online services.

The system will be used to produce enhanced listings and search features for the Fetch TV electronic programme guide (EPG).

It is expected that the addition of this service will produce a better user experience that is more informative and easy to use.

TV Genius is a system that uses a central portal where users access the data through search or by accessing the EPG.

It is not unreasonable to imagine that this sort of system could be used to integrate other on-demand services such as the BBC’s iPlayer and other services into the set-top-box in time.
