Imagenio Flexible IPTV launched

Telefonica has launched Imagenio Flexible in Spain, a new basic IPTV service.

The service costs €10 a month for 16 basic channels including regional news and satellite channels, 14 digital terrestrial channels, the VOD service Videoclub and the Imagenio promotion channel.

Although Imagenio only covering 60 per cent of Spain, Telefonica recently announced 48,725 subscribers in the fourth quarter of 2009, taking the total to 702,980.

The company is gaining ground on rivals, with both satellite pay-TV operator Digital+ and cable operator Ono both losing subscribers last year.
